The purpose of this test is to evaluate the pressure-containing performance of the valves when exposed to
fire, as required by the international standard specifications BS6755-2, API607, API6FA and ISO10497. The
test is carried out in order to verify the standard limits of acceptability, regardless of size or pressure rating,
for through leakage and external leakage of the test valve after exposure to a fire for a fixed time.
PSB srl has equipped with appropriate test structure designed according to specification API6FA, where to perform this kind of test.
These qualification tests are conducted by special trained personnel and witnessed by Third Party inspectors.
In PSB srl there are nr.3 test benches suitable for hydrostatic and gas testing for valves from ½” to 24”, and
pressure classes up to ANSI4500 or API15000 with various end connections.
Each test Bench is designed with suitable protections and equipped with a dedicated control panel, which allows the recording of pressure status during the test and the acquisition on line of the test parameters, as pressure, temperature and torque.
All operators are fully trained and experienced to perform all types of tests required by the main international standards (API6A, API6D, API598, BS6755), or other customer requirements.
One of the most important technical demands currently facing the valve manufacturing industry is
controlling fugitive emissions, particularly from stem seals.
PSB srl is able to perform this kind of test, by means of using of gas (Mixture of Nitrogen + Helium 1%) and an Helium mass spectrometer with detector-sniffing (ASME V - Appendix IV).
The leak testing method is according to the main international specification as ISO15848-2 and Shell 77/312.
Among our existing customers, there are companies that are the largest valve manufacturing firms in the world, which provide a wide array of valves including, ball, gate, globe and many more. PSB srl is assembling and testing valves on behalf of these companies.
Our qualified personnel has experience building and testing valve assemblies as well as working with high- pressure vessels, and practices daily the following activities:
• Read blueprints and other written and verbal specifications
• Perform assembly and testing of valves with blind flanges or automated testing machines
• Lap and trouble shoot valves that fail testing
• Plan assembly procedures, following specifications
• Remove small quantities of metal to clean parts or to produce close fit between parts
• Drill, tap, or ream holes
• Install moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and work them to test free movement
• Complete test reports, seals and tags product
• Ensure that product output meets established quality policy
• Ensure established productivity standards are obtained
Our service personnel is subject to a structured training program in order to be qualified and fully reliable in
supporting activities, also on site such as:
• Maintenance
• Sales of spare parts and tooling, as well as lapping equipment
• Valve installation
• Troubleshooting
• Witness Start-up/commissioning
• On site examination with supervision and inspection
• Valve repair and re-conditioning
• Valve upgrading
• Training for client Personnel
All original spare parts replaced by our service engineers is covered by our standard one-year guarantee, in order to ensure our clients about the quality of our products.
PSB srl is working for many years with very reliable partner, which has invested over the years in
increasingly advanced control instrumentation, and the work is conducted in compliance with Norsok
Standard M-501.
Recently has obtained the qualification of sandblasters and applicators for its employees from the NACE inspectors.
